Legend Biotech is seeking Associate Scientist/Scientist, Bioanalytical Sciences as part of the Early-Stage Drug Development team based in Somerset, NJ.

Role Overview

Legend Biotech USA, Inc. is seeking entry-level Scientists to join our Bioanalytical Sciences team responsible for daily Flow cytometry workflow to support immunophenotyping and cell-based assays of clinical samples. This position will report directly to the Senior Director of Bioanalytical Sciences. The successful candidates will perform 41 color panel flow assay using Cytek Aurora Spectral Flow cytometry for clinical samples autologous and allogenic CAR-T and related products. There will be plenty of opportunities to perform exploratory studies utilizing other analytical platforms such as molecular, immuno- and cell-based assays. The candidate will also collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure that the execution and analysis of clinical sample testing meets health authority guidelines and global qualification standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive clinical trial specimens according to laboratory protocols via LIMS or paper-based process
  • Process patient samples and various quality control specimens for immunophenotyping and FACS
  • Maintain good documentation in ELN, paper notebook and log books.
  • Analyze flow cytometry data with SpectroFlow software
  • Conduct data transfer and storage according to department policies.
  • Keep work place clean and organized and adhere to EHS guidance.
  • Participate in assay development and qualification
  • Carry out additional exploratory and investigational studies with various analytical techniques.
  • Coordinate equipment maintenance, perform routine QC check and ensure proper working condition
  • Work with the various vendors in order to troubleshoot instrumentation issues
  • Maintain proper inventory of reagents, controls and disposables
  • Meet/exceed quality guidelines as they relate to performance, documentation and compliance
  • Perform other related duties as required
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master degree in biological sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Life Sciences) or related area is required
  • Knowledge of cancer biology, and immunology and T-cell biology.
  • > 2 years' experience in execution of cell-based and /or flow cytometry methods preferred.
  • Prior experience in CAR-T cell therapy development preferred.
  • Knowledge of Spectral flow cytometers and hands on human PBMC preparation preferred
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Sense of ownership and integrity of their work.
  • This position requires to receive and analyze patient samples during off business hours occasionally.
  • A demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
  • Demonstrated organizational skills; including but not limited to attention to detail and multitasking
