SUMMARY:
The Director, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of a comprehensive DE&I strategy for Lundbeck US. The Director will have accountability for aligning DE&I strategy with the organization's mission and values while promoting inclusion, belonging, and respect for all employees, customers, patients, and business partners. In close partnership with the VP, Chief Compliance Officer, senior leadership, the DE&I Council, people leaders, HR, Talent Acquisition and other stakeholders this role is responsible for identifying opportunities for integrating DE&I into all aspects of the US organization and business strategy. They will also work with senior leadership and global counterparts to ensure that the organization's policies, practices, and programs are aligned with DE&I objectives, and for measuring and monitoring progress towards those objectives. The Director, DE&I will be responsible for overseeing the existing DE&I Council, employee resource groups and DE&I Committees to ensure alignment and maximize impact for the organization.

Reporting to the Chief Compliance Officer and head of DE&I strategy, this individual, hands-on leadership role will work closely with cross-functional teams, leading the following iniatives:

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive DE&I strategy that drives impact and aligns with the organization's overall business strategy, purpose and beliefs.
  • Build and implement an effective and scalable DE&I program.
  • Partner with leadership, HR and talent acquisition to enhance recruitment and retention strategies to attract and retain a diverse workforce, including potential partnerships with external organizations.
  • Provide strategic guidance and oversee our DE&I council, DE&I committees and employee resource groups (ERGs) to ensure a effective and coordinated strategies and objectives that align back to business and larger DE&I strategy.
  • Build foundational relationships with other functions to foster a culture of inclusion and achieve a successful execution of strategy.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership, people leaders, HR, and other stakeholders to identify opportunities for promoting and integrating DE&I within the organization to further enhance our culture and business outcomes.
  • Develop and implement training and development programs across the organization for awareness, promotion of DE&I objectives, and alignment with policies, practices and programs in support of DE&I goals and initiatives.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on DE&I issues and provide guidance and coaching to senior leaders, people leaders, and employees on DE&I best practices, principles, and skills necessary to build cultural competence and foster inclusive behaviors with an internal and external focus.
  • Monitor and analyze workforce, organizational and other relevant data to identify areas for improvement and assess the effectiveness of DE&I initiatives.
  • Enhance the DE&I program through well-defined strategies, roles and responsibilities, and programs and workstreams, with a focus on leadership and accountability.
  • Partnering with all functions across the organization to identify opportunities for how we implement DE&I best practices in our interactions and business dealings with patients, customers, and business partners (such as third party entities)
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, and SKILLS:
  • Accredited Bachelor's Degree.
  • 10+ years of progressive Business or Human Resource experience
  • 5+ years of experience in designing, developing and leading the execution of effective and scalable DE&I programs and initiatives.
  • Passionate about promoting DE&I.
  • Ability to balance multiple business priorities.
  • Business acumen with demonstrated experience developing DE&I strategy and translating those DE&I strategies to business strategy and impact within an organization.
  • Experience leading change initiatives within an organization.
  • Experience working with and leading employee resource groups (ERGs).
  • Strong knowledge of DE&I issues and industry best practices.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and build trust with a wide range of stakeholders across functions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of laws and regulations related to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
PREFERREDEDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, and SKILLS:
  • Master's degree is preferred.
  • Ongoing education or certification within a DE&I program preferred.
  • Experience in the biopharmaceutical or life sciences industry preferred.
TRAVEL:
  • 10-15% travel primarily within the US; may be some international travel.
