ADDITIONAL COMPENSATION:
  • For Service, Technical Support, Marketing & Sales Roles: Additional compensation is available through either an Incentive and/or Commission Plan.
  • For Employees who reside in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey, and California, additional compensation is offered through a Cost-of-Living Adjustment (COLA).

POSITION SUMMARY:

The individual in this position is responsible for providing LC-MS technical support for the assigned regions. Will assists on pre-sale and post sale support of the MS products to include demonstration, sample analysis, seminars, installations, training customers and regional personnel and assisting customers with adapting methodology for our instruments. As well as other related duties that may be assigned from time to time.

This position is required to assist the sales efforts by providing MS technical expertise to the assigned region(s) customers and staff.

JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
  • Demonstrations and assist with MS sales calls. (Daily)
  • Provide sample analysis and adapt customer methodology with our instrumentation. (Daily)
  • Assist the region in achieving customer satisfaction with assigned products. (Daily)
  • Manage and maintain the regional MS demonstration inventory. (Weekly)
  • Create and present regional and customer training (and seminars) as the regional expert for the MS products. (Daily)
  • Must be capable of independent preparation of samples, sample analysis and interpretation of results, and report generation. (Daily)
  • Assist the Regional Manager as necessary. (Daily)
  • Travel as required, overnight travel can vary by region from 20% to in excess of 50%. (Weekly)
  • Must travel by air and drive as required. (Daily)
  • Assist with training Associate MS Support Specialists. (Weekly)
  • Assist with Demonstrations. (Weekly)

    This position's primary focus is to provide LC-MS technical expertise for the selling effort of the assigned region(s) to meet business goals.

    PROBLEM SOLVING REQUIREMENTS:

    The incumbent must have problem solving skills, which are required to solve customer and regional problems. Thorough understanding of MS and atmospheric pressure interfaces required.

    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

    Incumbent is required to have a minimum of a bachelor's degree, in Chemistry; while an MS or PhD is highly preferred. At least one (1) of experience in LCMS laboratory instrumentation experience is required. Verifiable proficiency in LCMS, excellent presentation and communication skills are required.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    The position requires frequent lifting (or by other means for movement) of instrumentation/parts. Physical demands may include frequent bending; stooping, squatting, standing, walking, sitting for long periods of time and pulling/pushing of parts can also be expected. Incumbent must be able to lift up to 20 pounds routinely throughout the day. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.

    SAFETY/PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT:

    Position is required to maintain proper housekeeping and safety standards in particular to laboratory safety protocol. Proper use of personal protective equipment and safety devices as required by the Corporate Safety Document policies and procedures and/or customer dictated policy.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    This position is home based and will require daily travel to customer locations and/or the regional office. The position requires the incumbent to have the ability to work alone on projects, as well as, collaborating as part of team. Incumbent may work at several different work sites during the course of a business day in order to support the needs of Shimadzu customers. Extra hours may periodically be required, in order to fulfill the functions required by this position. The position requires proper handling of public inquires in a prompt and friendly manner.
