Job Description

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced US Oncology Portfolio Director to join our Pipeline and Portfolio Strategy Team in the US Human Health Oncology division.

The Portfolio Strategy Director is responsible for developing and implementing portfolio strategies for the oncology pipeline and portfolio, as well as long term strategy for pre- and post-launch products. They will create a comprehensive portfolio strategy that effectively positions pipeline assets for successful market entry. The Portfolio Strategy Director will define strategic objectives, target patient populations, and competitive positioning for each asset in the portfolio. In addition, they will closely monitor and manage policy and macro competitor changes in collaboration with the US Organized Customer Access & Reimbursement (OCAR) team. This position is based out of the Upper Gwynedd, PA site.

Responsibilities:

Portfolio Strategy Development:
  • Develop a holistic portfolio strategy for the oncology pipeline and portfolio, with a focus on the pre-launch stage.
  • Define the strategic direction of the portfolio, considering market opportunities and competitive advantage.
  • Standardize the activities for the US new pipeline, ensuring a smooth transition from the early stage to the handoff for launch.
  • Optimize resource allocation and synergies across pipeline assets to drive portfolio success.

Policy and Competitor Monitoring and Strategy:
  • Monitor and manage policy changes and macro competitor activities that may impact the success of the portfolio during the pre-launch stage.
  • Collaborate closely with the US OCAR team to stay informed about policy developments and regulatory changes affecting the industry.
  • Conduct thorough competitor analysis to identify market trends, competitive threats, and opportunities for differentiation.
  • Develop proactive strategies and tactics to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities.

Long-Term Strategy:
  • Set the long-term strategy for the oncology pipeline and portfolio, aligned with organizational objectives and market dynamics.
  • Evaluate market trends, emerging therapies, and patient needs to inform the long-term strategy.
  • Continuously assess the portfolio's performance and make necessary adjustments to ensure sustained success.

Collaboration and Alignment:
  • Foster collaboration across cross-functional teams, including -global and US business operations, market research , marketing, sales, and -OCAR.-
  • Leverage best practices from global -and US -teams and ensure consistency in portfolio strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration , Marketing, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in strategy, portfolio management, or commercial roles in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry, preferably in oncology.
  • Strong understanding of portfolio management principles and practices.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing portfolio strategies, with a focus on the pre-launch stage.
  • Excellent analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to anticipate and respond to policy and competitor changes.
  • Strong leadership and decision-making abilities.
  • Effective collaboration and communication skills to work with cross-functional teams.
  • In-depth knowledge of the oncology market, including policy landscape, regulatory dynamics, and competitor landscape
