The Position

The Application Architect is responsible to develop, as well as understand and improve all facets of the assigned application portfolio. This role requires specific knowledge in building, orchestrating, and deploying complex integration architectures, database builds and application access solutions that are aligned with business and IT strategies and comply with the organization's architectural and operating standards and requirements. This role is ideal for someone with a strong understanding of MuleSoft and Informatica Intelligent Cloud Service (IICS) technologies and has a passion for implementing robust API integrations.

Relationships

Reports to Director/Associate Director of Business Applications, Information Technology and collaborates with architects and development teams in Information Technology for solution delivery.

Essential Functions
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand functional and technical requirements and translate them into scalable and flexible solutions
  • Collaborate with other solution architects and Global platform teams to adopt and drive Integration and data architecture standards which are focused on realizing business value
  • Develop and maintain Integration technical design documentation, including data flows, data models, integration specifications and integration agreements
  • Conduct code reviews and provide feedback to the development team to ensure high-quality deliverables
  • Ensure solution integrity through the use of best practices when developing or collaborating on business solutions
  • Ensure source code and version control processes are followed by all teams during implementations
  • Collaborate with external partners to implement necessary interfaces for data/file exchanges, whether batch or API-based
  • Provide resolutions for system failures, research data resolutions and support root-cause investigations
  • Stay current with industry trends, identifying opportunities, developing roadmaps and conducting Proof of Concepts
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement in the integration landscape development processes and methodologies

Physical Requirements

10-20% overnight travel required.

Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or other related field required. Relevant experience may be substituted when appropriate. Advanced degree preferred
  • Experience with Integration platforms such as MuleSoft and Informatica Intelligent Cloud Service (IICS)
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in Computer Science, IT, programming/systems analysis or other related experience required
  • Project/initiative lead experience is required
  • Experience in applying systematic and rigorous analytic methods to improve business processes and their enabling applications is required
  • Experience in Agile development and testing preferred
  • Knowledge of operating systems, relational database architectures, query languages and interface, standard programming environments, data integration tools, application integration solutions, and web-based information solutions
  • Ability to act as a project lead to a cross-functional project team in the development and implementation of processes and programs
  • Cross-functional team collaboration experience required (e.g. with brand/other LoB stakeholders)
  • Self-sufficiency and ability to query code/databases, identify issues/gaps, and proactively investigate and escalate problems with proposed solutions is required
