The Position

Oversee the performance of all preventative and emergency maintenance activities, work orders and projects to ensure proper working order and compliance of systems with cGMP's. Assists with preparation of yearly Facilities budget, audit and approval of contract Facilities services, performance reviews and on-call scheduling.

Essential Functions
  • Coaching and mentoring of direct reports
  • Drive facilities performance to meet business and customer needs through world-class maintenance practices
  • Ensure maintenance practices are standardized across shifts
  • Ensure that facilities equipment unscheduled events and non-conformities are completed to standard in order to support site goals
  • Execution of maintenance activities on time and completed to standard
  • Ensure facilities group training requirements are up-to-date and training is maintained at or greater than 90%
  • Provide input during regulatory inspections
  • Maintain facilities documentation compliant with current regulatory guidelines
  • Support the timely processing and closure of investigations (root cause analysis), deviations and CAPA's as directed
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Support and participate in site shutdown activities
  • Support Event Response Process
  • Performs all job duties and responsibilities in a compliant and ethical manner and in accordance with all applicable healthcare laws, regulations and industry codes
  • Incorporates the Novo Nordisk Way and 10 Essentials in all activities and interactions with others
  • Signature Authority and responsibilities:
    • Facilities FAM approval authority within RAM and for all work order processing activities
    • Facilities FAM approval authority related to training (including ELITE), card access and contractor management
    • PO and invoice approvals within Supervisor approval authorization limit and within established time expectations
    • Smartsolve approvals in area of responsibility (CHO, DEV, CAPA, etc.)

Physical Requirements

0-10% overnight travel required. The ability to climb, reach, stand, and walk. The ability to push, pull, lift, finger, feel, and grasp. The ability to speak, listen, and understand verbal and written communication. Repetition including substantial movement of wrists, hands, and or fingers. Lifting up to 10 of force occasionally. Sedentary work - walking and standing are required only occasionally. Visual acuity to perform close activities such as: reading, writing, and analyzing; and to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of work assigned or to make general observations.

Development of People

Ensure that reporting personnel have individual development plans (IDP), with annual goals and measurements that are consistent with the priorities of the business, and that interim reviews are held so that their work is focused on those priorities, and they understand their level of accountability for results and the measurement process.

Ensure that the IDP forms include completed learning and aspiration plans and are in place for all reporting personnel to enable the achievement of goals and capability to assume increased levels of responsibility.

Manage the application and communication of all Novo Nordisk policies, procedures, and Novo Nordisk Way.

Qualifications
  • Education and Certifications:
    • A minimum of six (6) years' experience in facilities systems and equipment maintenance or equivalent with continuing education
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
    • Strong working knowledge of facility related systems including Clean Water Systems, Clean Steam System, HVAC Systems, and Compressed Gas Systems
    • Ability to read and understand sophisticated architectural, equipment and system drawings
    • Computer literate
    • Proven Team player
    • Previous experience in clean room and cGMP applications required
    • Strong communication skills
    • Knowledge of validation philosophy and application desired
    • Coaching and mentoring of direct reports
    • Drive facilities performance to meet business and customer needs through world-class maintenance practices
