Job Description The Discovery Analytical Research group within Analytical Enabling Capabilities (Analytical R&D) is seeking applicants for an Associate Principal Scientist position available at its South San Francisco, California research facility. The successful candidate will contribute to the efforts in enabling the discovery of new drug candidates including small molecules, biologics and other emerging modalities. Key deliverables will include the development, implementation, and execution of analytical measurement technologies that may accelerate the pace of discovery research and influence molecular design. The successful candidate must be able to collaborate in a dynamic, integrated, and multidisciplinary team environment. A broad range of tools (e.g. chromatography, electrophoresis, mass spectrometry, spectroscopy) are leveraged and new technologies are developed to influence selection of new drug candidates and enhance scalability and robustness. - The ideal candidate will have knowledge in the biopharmaceutical discovery and development fields, and proficiency in one or more areas such as separation techniques, high-resolution mass spectrometry, and lab automation. Strong fundamental knowledge in recent advances in analytical technologies is highly desired. Applicants must have effective organizational, multi-tasking, oral /written communications skills, scientific leadership, and a desire to conduct research and publish in peer-reviewed scientific journals. - Primary Responsibilities:
