Position Summary:

As an Associate Director, People Business Partner (People BP), you will champion Taiho Oncology Inc's. (TOI) operating principles - PACT, the cultural foundation of our company. The People BP supports clients by being a strategic advisor through internal consulting and problem solving across various human strategy dimensions including: management development and coaching, employee engagement, change management, talent solutions, employee relations and total rewards. They will incorporate PACT in decisions and behavior, monitor the effect of business decisions on people, and advise management appropriately, while mitigating company risk and preserving the employee experience.

Performance Objectives:
  • Utilizes knowledge of business and clients to provide guidance and input.
  • Oversee the recruitment process for assigned client groups, working in collaboration with hiring managers and Talent team.
  • Establishes relationships of trust with clients, leading to being brought in early for more efficient impact on important actions and decisions.
  • Consults on business issues and coaches management to make better people decisions contributing to more effectiveness in their roles.
  • Suggests organizational change capabilities to bring teams together to ensure communication, collaboration and desired results.
  • Gives advice/input on assessment of talent for hiring, promotions and job changes.
  • Partners with managers and Talent Management on manager and employee development solutions.
  • Facilitates people processes with assigned clients including mid/year-end processes, employee survey results, workforce planning, talent assessments, etc.
  • Advises teams and/or individuals within client groups to resolve issues, enable change and optimize performance.
  • Uses facts/data to drive guidance and resulting actions.
  • Provides People policy guidance and interpretation.
  • Champions and models the desired culture and behavioral norms for the organization.
  • Provides timely and direct feedback to managers, colleagues and employees.
  • Participates in client meetings as part of the team to keep abreast of the business and provide People strategy and organizational updates.
  • Identifies and seeks to understand processes, policies or tools that may conflict with desired culture working with team to assess remedies.

Project Management:
  • Uses project management rigor and methodology in leading team projects.
  • Collaborates effectively and frequently seeks input from others internally or externally in relation to process improvement opportunities.

Education/Certification Requirements:
  • BA/BS degree in business related discipline, or the equivalent.
  • MBA or MS degree preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • 5+ years well rounded HR Generalist experience, 2+ years' experience serving in a Business Partner capacity. At least 2 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Demonstrates strength in learning agility and the ability to manage ambiguity.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, adept at conflict resolution, successful at working with and coaching multiple levels of the organization..
  • Effective communicator in both verbal and written skills, seeking first to understand then to be understood. Tailors communications to audience appropriately.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills with an ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
  • Positive attitude, flexible and proactive.
  • Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to present information at multiple levels of the company, providing most relevant and important points in a clear and concise manner.
  • Strong Microsoft Office 365 applications (i.e., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, etc.). Preferred working knowledge in Dayforce, Workday and or other HR technology.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $171,700-$202,000 annually; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
