Description
The Genomics Institute of the Novartis Research Foundation (GNF) located in San Diego, California is seeking a PhD Scientist to join the Bioinformatics group. As part of the the Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research (NIBR), GNF collaborates closely with the entire Novartis research organization, while maintaining an independent innovative and ground-breaking research programs. This relationship has allowed GNF to develop a unique environment and accompanying technological infrastructure not found in any university or commercial pharmaceutical setting.

We are seeking an expert in integrative genomics and systems biology to join our team at GNF to perform Bioinformatics analysis of complex diseases and associated drug development. The successful candidate will conduct in depth analyses of high dimensional mouse and human data including multiple molecular and phenotypic measures. This analysis will be an integral part of defining both new targets for GNF's high-tech and high throughput scientists and aiding in the advance of candidate drugs in the pre-clinical setting. Your direct contributions will help set the path on which GNF will address today's patients with cutting edge science and technology. The position will encompass the multiple therapeutic areas under investigation at GNF including but not limited to metabolic diseases, cancer, immunology and regenerative medicine.The candidate must have a PhD in a numerical subject and >4 years work experience in an industrial or academic setting, have a published track record in bioinformatics, systems biology, machine-learning/deep-learning or related disciplines. The position requires effective communication and interaction with colleagues from a widely different perspectives and backgrounds. A demonstrated history of success in analysis of large complex datasets in both standardized and innovative ways is critical to success in this role. Our preferred candidate will demonstrate experience as an inquisitive self-starter with an abiding and deep interest in biological systems
