We are seeking a highly talented associate to join our world class Research and Early Development organization as a Lab Specialist. The main focus will be daily operation and organization of a large Research Group. This includes coordinating and overseeing necessary lab purchases; negotiating pricing with external vendors; ordering lab equipment and supplies, space coordination, Instrument PM and calibration. The Lab specialist would need to work in close collaboration with the Scientist and Research Associates to ensure all operational needs for the labs are fully supported.

•Organizing lab space and ensuring it is well maintained
•Manage equipment installation, service and repair
•Work collaboratively with Scientist/Research Associates, HSE, Facilities and Finance to maintain an organized, efficient and fully functioning research labs
•Manage Institute wide PM work on specified general use instruments.
•First point of contact for afterhours issues involving specified scientific equipment
•Interface with Security staff regarding Institute access issues and after hours facility monitoring
•Assist with asset Management
•Coordinate and drive progress in at least one large project outside of normal daily operations.•BA or BS in Chemistry or Biology or other related scientific discipline
•Minimum of 1 year prior experience managing Research Operations in a biomedical research setting
•Strong organizational skills and experienced with Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel,
•Team player, good interpersonal skills
•Able to lift and carry 40 lbs.
•May necessitate working flexible hours outside our normal schedule, including weekends and after hours. This position requires off hours support and on call services.
•Ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple projects at once
•Broad understanding of life sciences research equipment.
•Experience developing, implementing Standard Operating Procedures, Guidelines and Policies
•Knowledge of Human Tissue compliance Preferred
