This position will support Executive Director, Data Strategies & Services, in establishing, maintaining and following a data management strategy that is aligned with organization strategy, approved by all relevant stakeholders, communicated across the organization, and reflected in architecture, technology and business planning. This position will act as the primary liaison between business team for data management & data governance issues, opportunities play a key role in:

Maintaining the data management strategy (goals, objectives, priorities, and scope) for all business areas through data governance

Establishing, deploying, managing and enforcing standards and rules for data management, enrichment and usage

Providing oversight, ensuring stakeholder collaboration, and facilitating decision for critical data subject areas

Effecting Change Management and resolving cross-functional data management issues

Maintaining alignment of data governance structures, policies, processes, and tools with Novartis's business and IS strategy

Ensuring creators, users and administrators of the data are educated on data governance standards, policies, processes, procedures and tools.

Facilitating qualification and prioritization of requests across functional areas

Developing and Implementing policies, guidelines, business definitions, metrics, and standards for managing information

Evaluating, managing and resolving issues and risks to ensure business alignment

Providing operational leadership and authority

Reporting and escalating critical issues (including issues that affect other subject areas) to Executive leadership

Additional responsibilities include:

Collaborating with other functional area stewards on serving business needs

Triaging requests from functional areas

Prioritizing requests and issues within functional area

Developing requirements and rules to support business needs

Ensuring compliance with applicable data quality standards and best practices

Analyzing and resolving identified risks/issues, including customer and technical impact

This work will require collaboration with many stakeholders, including other SDD teams, PLS, IT, medical, and commercial teams.Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or similar field Master's degree preferred

Data Management or Data Science experience of 8+ years.

Demonstrated expertise and knowledge of Pharma Specialty and/or Oncology data

Strong leadership skills - able to collaborate, motivate individuals and enforce accountability, prior direct people management experience strongly preferred

Ability to build consensus on strategic definitions with groups of individuals representing different viewpoints

Knowledge of business needs and objectives across functional areas

Ability to effect change

Experience supporting and providing guidance in the translation of business needs into information requirements

Ability to balance the business' needs across functional areas in order to prioritize requests

Ability and willingness to understand and represent the total-enterprise perspective

Good understanding of systems and sources of information

Familiar with Information lifecycle

Proven ability to manage multiple projects and to be accountable for individual results;

Demonstrated strong skills in oral and written communication;

Ability to build relationships, collaborate and influence across a multifunctional matrix organization;

Demonstrated prioritization, organizational, analytical, and research skills as well as the ability to conceptualize more complex issues and work on complex processes, procedures or solutions;
