Description
Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research (NIBR) is seeking highly talented and motivated synthetic/medicinal chemists to join our Global Discovery Chemistry group in Cambridge, MA. The successful candidates will join an energizing and collaborative research environment working alongside colleagues who are committed to improving human health through the discovery transformative medicines.

We seek individuals who are passionate about drug discovery and enjoy solving synthetic chemistry challenges. The individuals will work as part of a cross-functional drug discovery team and have the primary responsibility to carry out the multi-step synthesis of small molecules for biological testing. The candidates will have a proven track record of scientific impact through the preparation of novel molecules and/or the development of new synthetic methods. The ideal candidates will have experience in medicinal chemistry with a working knowledge of biological data interpretation as well as molecular design and optimization. The candidates are expected to implement and contribute new concepts in a collaborative team setting.
Minimum requirements
•B.S. or M.S. degree in Chemistry
•5+ years' industry experience in the synthesis and characterization of organic molecules
•Knowledge of modern organic synthetic methods
•Experience with common purification and analytical techniques
•Good communication skills and naturally collaborative style
