• Serves as central point of contact for portion of contracting activity with US Managed Markets ac-count teams and senior leadership.
• Leads a team of contract managers and provides training, guidance, and general oversight.
• Supports and provides any required analytical support relative to managed care strategy development by determining any formulary or implementation issues and associated impact on Healthcare Contract Administration.
• Evaluates contract proposals, pricing, financial modeling and ROI analysis, incremental sales and optimal profitability.
• Measures and evaluates financial impact on business objectives.
• Works with Account Management in the development of contract proposals and effective negotiation strategies. Works with customer accounts directly in negotiation of contractual documentation.
• Works with Pricing and Contracting Strategy to develop/assess Brand contracting strategies.
• Defines and develops standardized reports to supply Brand Management and Account Management information on account performance.
• Works with Account Management to effectively communicate deal terms and account performance issues with customers.
• Monitors competitive contracting and pricing practices at the account and segment level. Provides key insights on account activity for incorporation in standardized and ad-hoc reports supplied to various stakeholders including Brand Management, Account Management, and BP&A.
• Supervises contract managers and will accurately review and approve their final contracts and sup-port contract analytics.
• Develops subordinate staff in terms of objectives, development plans and performance reviews.
• Leads cross-function team to provide training to Healthcare Contract Administration teams and col-leagues.
• Ensure department is SOX compliant and Implement company policies and procedures
• Assist in the development and implementation of department policies and procedures.
• Enforce standard operating procedures and training.
• Participate/contribute to ad hoc, special projects as needed.Education:

• B.A./B.S. required with at least 7-10 years of pharmaceutical experience (MBA a plus).
• Possess an extensive knowledge of pharmaceutical contracting and its market segments.
• Experience in all of the commercial and managed care environments (HMOs, IPAs, PBMs, GPOs, LTCs, and Specialty Pharmacies), and knowledge of the Medicare contracting marketplace is desired.

• Proficiency with MS Office applications including advanced Excel and PowerPoint capabilities.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize workload.
• Strong interpersonal skills and customer focus.
• Experience in account measurement, reporting and forecasting.
• Ability to work in a fast paced, cross-functional team atmosphere.
• Need to have the ability to devise new approaches, methods and systems in response to a changing managed care environment.
• Excellent project management skills. Supervisory skills are necessary to effectively delegate to, motivate and evaluate staff.
• Important competencies are teamwork, problem solving, innovation, planning and organizing, attention to detail, leadership and customer focus.
• Need to have the ability to devise new approaches, methods and systems in response to a changing managed care environment.
• Advanced knowledge of Excel, intermediate knowledge of Word.
