Supply Chain Analyst - Inventory

Global Supply Chain & Strategy is accountable for the design and performance management of AstraZeneca's Global End to End Supply chains.   Inventory and Working Capital management is a critical focus area for the company to improve cash and product flow and to optimise service levels.

The Supply Chain Inventory Analyst is a key role within the Inventory Group  and as part of this role you would be responsible for analysing different aspects of supply chain performance and evaluate opportunities for improvement relating to Inventory.  The immediate focus area of the role will be inventory analysis where you will be responsible for evaluating, analysing and reporting on the Company inventory and recommending changes to inventory policies and processes.  The scope for this role will be across all Regions and Brands.

Key accountabilities:

In this role you will be responsible for analysing, reporting on and evaluating performance on all aspects of AstraZeneca inventory.  You will analyse all aspects of Inventory Actuals and Inventory Forecasts compared to phased budgets and long range plans for statutory and reporting purposes. 

You will develop and improve the Inventory Planning and Forecasting processes, Inventory Modelling and scenario evaluations.  You will also lead Inventory Tier processes, challenging sites and brands that are deviating from the budget and making sure there are solutions in place to return to and improve the budget.

As part of this role you will also support the business through KPI tracking and analytics, exploring the root causes of variances.  You will work with Demand & Supply planners to understand the impact of demand and supply variability and supply chain velocity on inventory and explore opportunities to improve inventory performance.

Training and developing the Inventory Planning Community is part of the role and you will be required to understand the latest trends in Inventory Analyst externally and bringing in good practices.

Essential requirements:

•MSc in Statistics / Engineering or equvalent work experience
•Significant experience in a Supply Chain Environment
•Deep knowledge of Inventory Modelling
•Understanding of Forecasting metrics and their impact on Inventory
•Leading & influencing skills
•Experience in data analytics
•SAP APO SNP Knowledge and understanding and application of SAP ERP

Desirable requirements;

•Knowledge of demand planning
•Knowledge of the basics of Inventory Financials
