To support developing novel immuno or chemo therapies for MDR-HIV infected patients. LHRI has discovered that Interleukin-27 (IL-27) as a novel anti-viral cytokine and multiple novel micro RNAs as anti-viral RNAs. In addition, LHRI found a novel innate immune response/pathway against viral infection.

KEY ROLES/RESPONSIBILITIES

- Investigate a molecular mechanism of anti-HIV property of IL-27 in CD4 T cells and Dendritic cells focusing on gene expression profiles in host cells and post translational modification of viral protein(s) utilizing virological and immunological techniques
- Involve in studies of a role of IL-27 on immune cell function including innate immune response and ROS induction and investigate the function and mechanism of novel anti-viral micro RNAs induced by IL-27
