Main Duties and Responsibilities
GPPS (Global Product and Portfolio Strategy) bridges science and commercial, integrating corporate, portfolio, therapy areas and product strategies, providing strategic direction from early-stage research through to commercialization.
As part of the GPPS Respiratory Therapeutic area, this portfolio is AstraZeneca's next generation of inhaled products in both asthma and COPD.
Within the Respiratory Global Portfolio and Product Strategy (GPPS) team and reporting to commercial VP, the Brand Director, Respiratory will be accountable for the development and implementation of compelling promotional plans, up to and including promotional communication materials, global campaign, global promotional activities, workshop and sales support materials according to the brand strategy. The key focus of the role is launching PT010 with some cross-portfolio projects.
In this position, you will work cross functionally with colleagues in the AZ (including Markets) and Pearl units to shape the development of the promotional plans. You will work closely with the Global Commercial Operations team, in charge of Sales Excellence team & Launch readiness to ensure all the appropriate training, frameworks and tool are developed to support local launches.
The successful individual will demonstrate strong skills in the areas of strategic thinking, decision making, communication, leadership, problem solving and collaboration.
As a global Brand Director, Respiratory representing GPPS, you will be accountable for:
•Leading the development and evolution of the brand promotional communication and campaign
•Lead the enhancement and launch of the Co-Suspension science story
•Ensure coordination with clinical team and medical team to deliver appropriate evidences to support Respiratory product launch
•Being an active member of the cross-functional global commercial working group (GPT) and GBT
•Engaging with local head of marketing to ensure a flawless and aligned execution of the promotional plan, with a specific focus on launch readiness in coordination with the Academy team
•Provide promotional input to the global strategy / BSP Essential Requirements
•Bachelor's degree (ideally business degree)
•Significant experience in the respiratory therapeutic area, with inhaled respiratory brands
•Broad commercial experience including pre-launch and launch in particular in Primary care environment
•In-depth understanding of commercial strategy, methodologies and tools (product profiling and positioning, forecasting, pricing & reimbursement, market research techniques, competitive intelligence resources)
•Proven experience of engaging with and leveraging insights from external customers e.g. KEEs, prescribers, payors
•Evidence of developing compelling business cases and generating sales forecasts
•Experience of shaping brand strategy whilst the understanding of product profile was evolving
•Thorough understanding of the drug development process and the need for commercial line of sight throughout
•Exposure to and track record of effective management of senior decision-making/governance bodies
•Strong strategic thinking, decision making, and problem solving
•Strong leadership and influencing skills to ensure markets preparation and effective decision of senior leaders
•Proven ability to collaborate across functional boundaries
•Demonstrated ability to bring ideas to action
