As US Payroll Lead in Gaithersburg, MD you'll play a pivotal role in channeling our scientific capabilities to make a positive impact on changing patients' lives. Enabling strives to deliver our key growth priorities, the role of our business functions teams, including Human Resources, Finance, Global Compliance, Legal and Corporate Affairs, becomes crucially important.

The successful incumbent leads activities related to accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing for US population.  The US Payroll Lead serves as a US Payroll SME (Subject Matter Expert) and ensures operational excellence in payroll and time management systems and processes. This role is a leadership position within the US Payroll Team and will be responsible for processing payroll for approximately 14,000 employees in multiple legal entities in all 50 states and Puerto Rico in six different payroll frequencies.

Essential Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree

• Strong tech savvy, and the ability to learn technical subjects quickly

• Familiarity with cloud computing and internet research

• Excellent time management, organizational, and prioritizing skills

• Ability to think conceptually, as well as a high attention to detail

• Strong proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables and vlookups

• Superior people skills, including verbal and written communications with all levels of the organization

• Self-motivated and able to work in an independent fashion as well as a team environment

• Ability to establish relationship and work effectively with external vendor partners

Preferred Experience:

• Experience with Workday Payroll, Workday Time, and/or Kronos Time

• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) and/or FPC (Fundamental Payroll Certification)

• Experience supporting payroll for employees on international assignments

• Experience supporting different payroll frequencies
