Associate Scientist I, Antibody Engineering and Technology Development The Department of Protein Engineering and Antibody Discovery is seeking a talented and highly motivated scientist to enhance our antibody-based platform technology efforts. The successful candidate will be excited by research at the interface where innovative technology meets Biology. Specifically, the new hire will be commanding the design, development and functional characterization of innovative antibody and bispecific antibody modalities in various in vitro cell-based assays. The applicant will operate independently and in collaboration with a diverse group of scientists across various disciplines of Research to actively drive technological innovations. The selected individual will be a well-organized and a highly productive bench scientist that can design and execute experiments efficiently, as well as analyze, interpret and present data to multidisciplinary project teams.|
•To be considered, successful applicants will need to have the following background:
•Proven practical scientific experience in molecular biology and protein engineering
• Proven practical scientific experience in tissue culture techniques and cell-based assay development
•Strong experience in multicolor flow cytometry
•Ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams
Associate Scientist I:
•MS. degree in the life sciences with 3-7 years of relevant experience
•Extensive experience in molecular biology and antibody engineering, including; design, expression, purification and biochemical characterization of various antibody formats.
•Comprehensive experience in tissue culture techniques and functional cell-based assay development. Strong background in immunology and T cell biology is a plus.
•Mastery of various imaging/multicolor flow cytometry-based instruments and data analysis programs.
•Familiarity with automation and high-throughput screening from bacterial or mammalian expression systems is a plus.
•Experience in antibody discovery using one of several display-based technologies is preferred but not essential.
•Demonstrated experience in optimizing/troubleshooting protocols with a problem-solving mindset.
•Proficiency in GraphPad Prism or other graphing software.
•Excellent organizational skills, record keeping and data presentation, and capable of independently designing and executing experiments.
•Strong interpersonal and communication skills as well as the ability to work within teams are essential for this role.
