The Companion Animal (CA) Business Unit leads the strategy development and execution across markets throughout the world. It drives global marketing strategies and activities to drive successful key company CA launches and maximizes the value of in-line products. Our Animal Health Division has a very robust pipeline of new products and initiatives providing customer benefits and driving business growth .

You will lead the development the communications plans and oversee creative development process for tactics targeted for the audiences and regional deployment. Efforts are aligned with strategic guidance set at franchise level integrating region/ key market needs with the Regional Business Execution Team to execute tactics to veterinarians, channel partners, pet owners and influencers. The Executive Director, Customer Marketing and Business Execution is expected to drive innovation to capture the most value at the customer level in alignment with division's priorities and franchise strategies.

This is a new position requiring an individual with strong planning, market understanding, and outstanding leadership and influencing skills. You will be responsible for setting communications planning and implementation processes including oversight of regional roadmaps for major inline and key new product launches.

The Executive Director, Customer Marketing and Business Execution reports directly to the Associate Vice President of the Companion Animal Business Unit and will lead a team of 6 to 8 marketing directors focused on driving demand among Veterinary, Channel, Pet Owner, and Influencer audiences. Your efforts will establish a critical consistency across and influence a global team of over 100 marketing and sales team members across all geographies.

This position is an essential and prominent leadership position and will interact and influence at all levels of the company as needed (including Senior Executives) to ensure optimized and successful CA marketing strategy, competitive differentiation, and creating cross-portfolio value.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Orchestrate Communications and budget planning process on an annual basis to support marketing execution initiatives for products and development of cross portfolio business unit strategies.
  • Lead team to develop successful marketing tactics for major product launches with clear and aligned objectives and success metrics, differentiated product positioning and a solid launch plan.
  • Implement process for developing communications and tactical marketing plans.
  • Directs the setting of goals, tactics, and content development for assets & tools supporting executing campaign initiatives to veterinarians, channel partners, pet owners and key influencers.
  • Responsible to lead strategy for overall companion animal business which cross the portfolio of products and services for each audience.
  • Aligns actions with key stakeholders across the organization on core marketing launch tactics and address local launch and post-launch needs.
  • Provide leadership to ensure successful implementation to support product launches throughout the world.
  • Collaborate closely with marketing franchises, commercial operations, and enablement functions to provide impactful materials for regional/market deployment and closed loop marketing processes.
  • Leads and establishes customer and regional marketing and demand planning competencies that impact marketing initiatives to drive desired customer behaviors and manufacturing supply and planning.
  • Orchestrates monitoring processes to track implementation of key launches and solve conflictive situations.
  • Directs communications and promotional support agencies that develop the content to differentiate our brands.
  • Provide team leadership to ensure successful implementation of targeted initiatives throughout the world.
  • Collaborates and partner with Global and Regional Leadership to drive effective implementation.
  • Drive the development of communication planning capabilities in the Global Companion Animal Business Unit and among team members.
  • Lead and continually develop the Customer Marketing and Regional Acceleration team members to increase talent, marketing expertise, and drive performance. Shape culture to develop highly aligned, motivated marketing team.
  • Identify and recruit industry-leading talent to build a high-performing team.

Education Minimum Requirement:-
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Preferred: Master's Degree, MBA or Advanced degree in marketing, advertising, sales communications, or promotion.

Required Experience and Skills:
  • Strong life sciences, Veterinary medicine, animal science, or medical marketing and business experience is highly preferred with a minimum of 15 years of broad work experience in advertising, marketing, product or general management, leadership, and related sales support activities.
  • B2B, B2C, and B2B2C marketing, advertising, communications, sales, and business experience to influence local marketing and sales team members throughout the world is essential.-
  • Strong life science, Veterinary medicine, animal science, and/or medical marketing experience is highly preferred.
  • Marketing, advertising, product, or general management experience preferred.
  • Proven track record of inspirational and transformational leadership, building and leading high-performing teams from diverse countries and business backgrounds.
  • Skilled in navigating and influencing within an international matrix organization, driving rapid growth, and elevating market position, aligned with global and regional objectives.
  • Proven marketing experience of global successful product launches with measured results with set of clear metrics.
  • Demonstrated management of multimillion-dollar budgets supporting across multiple initiatives.
  • Marketing acumen and experience within new communications and promotional planning, budget planning and tactical execution.
  • Excellent ability to plan and manage tactical workflow for timely delivery of assets.
  • Familiarity of the Animal Health or related industry, marketing, and commercial Operations.
  • People management experience mandatory
  • Strong experience in creating, defining, and leveraging segmentation, and executing messaging based on market research, competitive analysis, and with an unwavering focus on the customer.
  • Managing and executing marketing, launch plans and budgets to drive revenue.
  • Setting and monitoring metrics that yield improved performance.
  • Interpersonal skills that will help in developing and building strong internal and external relationships with key stakeholders to collaborate and drive results for business unit.
  • Ability to challenge and drive the organization towards the success of multiple projects.
  • Ability to work in matrix organization and work with people in across multiple time zones and locations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • A great motivator, coach, and collaborator with the ability to develop high quality working relationships both internally and externally.
  • Able to travel up to 40% of time including Europe, Asia, and South America.

Expected salary range:
$243,500.00 - $383,300.00
