Overview Reporting to the Facility Security Officer and under specific direction, the Security Assistant will perform a number of duties in support the overall physical security program of Lovelace Biomedical. Will act as the receptionist and primary point of contact for a Lovelace campus to include operating and overseeing campus access gates, answering phones, sorting mail, verifying visitor and employee credentials, and maintaining and tracking access badges. Will also monitor and operate campus security systems to include alarms, door locks, access control systems, and other related systems. The Security Assistant will also process KAFB access paperwork and coordinate sponsorship for installation access, and perform all other related duties and tasks as required or assigned. Qualifications Required a high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 3 years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been attained. Must have a demonstrated ability to successfully perform a large volume of conflicting tasks under strict timelines, the ability to follow all standard operating procedures related to Lovelace security, the ability to protect confidential information, and a general familiarity with physical and data security systems and requirements. Requires strong professional-level written and verbal communication skills, excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, excellent judgement, strong customer service skills, and the ability to work independently and as a part of a team. Must have professional-level skills and experience with Microsoft Office, as well as the ability to learn department-specific computer systems as needed. Physical Requirements Work is performed in an office environment. Will operate standard office equipment and will frequently stand, walk, sit, perform desk-based computer tasks, use a telephone, perform repetitive motions and occasionally lift objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.
