Description
•The purpose of this role is provide strategic guidance, technical expertise and support on safety matters to the entire Alcon organization.
•This function develops and drives strategic programs in its area of expertise and ensures implementation of cost-effective, sustainable and compliant solutions, considering all relevant external legislations and internal guidelines.
•Act as the Safety Director for the entire Alcon organization ensuring alignment on the strategic direction related to safety and actively manage existing safety risks within the entire organization and establish KPIs for safety to provide a reliable and objective overview on the safety status, performance and activities of all sites, functions and business units.
•Develop global standards for safety based on business needs, identify required resources to ensure successful implementation, and ensure continual improvement of agreed safety standards
•Ensure that issued standards or procedures are in compliance and audit site conformance and complaince to internal safety standards
•Analyze incident reports and propose corrective actions
•Lead reviews of technical risk assessments in capital projects and supervise implementation of mitigation measures
•Provide technical knowledge to investigations of serious incidents and fatalities.
•Provide technical support as a subject matter expert in an effective and efficient manner including appropriate safety related trainings
